AGM 2011

The RTA met for its 24-hour consultation on Friday/Saturday November 25/26 2011 at Holland House, near Evesham where, led by Dr Jill Hopkinson, National Rural Officer of the Church of England, and the Revd Canon Jeremy Martineau, Director of the Centre for the Study of Rural Ministry we heard excellent papers on 'Rural Theology in the Public Square: towards the Rural Church and The Big Society', and had a good discussion on and round the subject. An edited version of the papers presented will be available in due course either on this website, or in the Newsletter - or indeed in both!

During the course of the consultation, the AGM was held.

AGM 2010

The RTA held its Annual General Meeting on Monday September 27 at the Arthur Rank Centre, Stoneleigh Park, with an address from the Revd Dr Gordon Gatward, on 'A Theology for Care Farming'. An edited text of this address was published in the Spring 2011 Newsletter, which can be accessed here.

At the business meeting, we welcomed Robert Barlow onto the Executive, in the place of Richard Jones, whom we thank for his contribution over the years.

2010: Crunch in the Country

RTA Annual Conference at Rydal Hall, Cumbria: 11-12 June 2010

A very enjoyable conference (at least, that's what they said!). We hope to publish the main speakers' papers (Andrew Humphries and Bishop James Newcome) either in the Newsletter or in Rural Theology in due course.

Further discussion was provoked by a paper written by the Revd Eric Kyte, which can be accessed here.
