We haven't updated our web page for some time but the group is still meeting twice a year in chipping Norton. We continue to choose topics of relevance to the range of issues facing rural communities and churches. The last few meetings have included a discussion about identified need in the community led by Penny Nairne, author of the book 'When I needed a Neighbour'. In May 2009 we had a discussion entitled 'Towards a Theology of Farming and Land Use', and followed this up in October with a meeting on the theology of food, fair trade and local food issues. In May 2010 the Revd Hugh Williams, having completed a dissertation on the subject recently, led a discussion on the place of singing Psalms in rural churches. We sang a few psalms in a variety of styles. Our next meeting will be on October 21, when the Chipping Norton deanery Youth worker will come and talk about her work with the rural churches of the deanery.
